Aniket Mehrotra is a policy assistant in the Housing Finance Policy Center at the Urban Institute, where he advances the policy implications of the center’s research to government and industry stakeholders. Before joining Urban, Mehrotra supported local, state, and national policy efforts to increase economic mobility and close the racial wealth gap, including at Prosperity Now. There, he coauthored a high-impact report amplified nationwide to state and local policymakers and economic equity advocates, uplifting inclusionary zoning programs as a critical tool to close the racial wealth gap. Mehrotra graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a BA in economics and minor in poverty, inequality, and social justice.
