Before joining Urban, she was a research manager at the Center for Effective Philanthropy, where she managed research projects about foundations, individual donors, and nonprofit organizations. As a graduate student, she served as a research assistant for the Indiana Nonprofits Project. She holds both a BS in public affairs and an MPA from the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.
