Rebecca Dedert is a policy analyst in the Research to Action Lab at the Urban Institute, where she provides technical assistance and policy research to promote inclusion and racial equity. She focuses on boosting upward mobility from poverty and fostering shared prosperity by applying research evidence to public policy and practice. Her work examines the policy domains of affordable housing, transit-oriented development, and wealth building and how they are shaped by systemic racism. Before joining Urban, Dedert served as the legislative coordinator for a government affairs consulting firm.

Dedert attended Trinity College on a QuestBridge National College Match scholarship and holds bachelor’s degrees in public policy and urban studies.
