Hurricane Relief and Recovery: Fostering Human and Physical Infrastructure Resilience
Body

Videos from remote speaker, Angela Blanchard, President and CEO, BakerRipley

Houston has a long road to recovery, but its residents have demonstrated great resilience in the face of a historic challenge. As Congress considers its disaster relief and recovery funding packages, we took stock of what is happening on the ground in Houston and Florida and lessons learned from Hurricane Katrina’s and Hurricane Sandy’s recovery and resilience efforts. Panelists explored disaster management topics, such as inclusive recovery, housing rehabilitation and relocation, and ensuring disaster mitigation and more resilient infrastructure.
