Using the New PFS Project Assessment Tool

Webinar Presentation PDF

On November 16th, PFSI co-directors Justin Milner and Kelly Walsh demonstrated the Pay for Success Initiative’s new PFS Project Assessment Tool (PAT) on a live webinar.

The PAT is designed to help governments, social service providers, private and philanthropic funders, and other stakeholders answer a fundamental question: what makes for a strong pay for success project? It describes the core elements of pay for success projects, explains why those elements are important, provides a scoring system to help distinguish the strengths and weaknesses of a proposed project, and generates recommendations for improving those weak areas. It will help users to consider the merits of a particular PFS project—and also to think about how to deliver strong social services more broadly.

The webinar explained the methodology behind the tool’s project scoring system in more detail, walked example projects through the tool, and took questions from participants.
